What we collect, why we need it, and who receives it.

Honest Visibility is operated by Jeff Hoffman doing business as Honest Web Designs. This policy covers honestvisibility.com and the reports created through it.

Information we collect

When you start a scan, we collect the business name, website, service, location, customer-style search, email address, phone number, and any edits or answers you provide. We also store the resulting public website evidence, AI responses, report content, progress, payment status, and private access or recovery records.

Our hosting and security systems receive ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, dates, and error or abuse-prevention events. When website analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may also collect page views, approximate location, referral source, device information, and interactions such as scrolling or outbound link clicks through cookies or similar technologies.

How we use information

To create, deliver, resume, and recover free and paid reports.
To verify public website facts and compare the recorded AI responses.
To process payments, refunds, receipts, and report access.
To send service messages and respond to support requests.
To protect the service, enforce usage limits, diagnose errors, and understand site performance.
To meet accounting, legal, and security obligations.

Service providers and information sharing

We use vendors that provide hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, and AI services. Depending on the report, this may include Stripe, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity, and Google Gemini. These providers receive only the information needed for their part of the service and process it under their own terms and privacy practices.

AI requests can include the submitted business name, public website URL, customer-style search, and public website evidence. We design those requests not to include the customer email address, phone number, payment details, private access tokens, or passwords. Public pages and sources may contain their own contact information.

Stripe processes card details on its hosted checkout. Honest Visibility receives payment identifiers, status, amount, and limited customer information needed to connect the purchase to a report; we do not receive the full card number. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.

Cookies and analytics choices

Google Analytics may set or read cookies to distinguish visits and measure how the site is used. We do not use the report intake fields as Analytics event values. You can limit cookies through your browser settings or use Google's browser opt-out tools. Blocking analytics cookies should not prevent you from purchasing or opening a report.

Retention and security

We keep report and contact information for as long as it is reasonably needed to deliver and recover reports, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Recovery-request records are shorter-lived. When information is no longer needed, we may delete or de-identify it. You may ask us to delete a report or associated contact information, subject to records we must keep.

Reports use private, hard-to-guess links and verified email recovery. Those controls reduce risk but no internet service can promise absolute security. Treat a private report link like a confidential document and share it only with people you trust.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your report. You may also ask a privacy question or object to a particular use. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights. We will verify a request before acting on it and will not discriminate against someone for making a privacy request.

Children and changes

The service is intended for business owners and other adults, not children under 13. We may update this policy as the service or its providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
